Haileybury Astana is seeking a passionate and dynamic Robotics Teacher to join our team and inspire young minds in the exciting field of robotics. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in robotics and engineering principles, be proficient in English, and possess a genuine interest in educational development and innovation. Prior experience with LEGO Education programs and a willingness to expand their knowledge in robotics education are essential. Knowledge of Java programming and participation in FIRST competitions will be considered a significant advantage.

Type of contract: 1 year contract with mutual prolongation

Start date: August 2024

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging robotics curriculum tailored for children aged 8-13 years, focusing on hands-on learning and creative problem-solving.
  • Implement LEGO Education tools and resources to provide a stimulating learning environment, encouraging students to explore and innovate.
  • Continuously assess and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students, ensuring a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate robotics with other STEM subjects, enhancing interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and educational methodologies in robotics and STEM education.
  • Encourage participation in robotics competitions, such as FIRST, to foster teamwork, strategic thinking, and real-world problem-solving skills.
  • Provide guidance and support for students' projects, facilitating learning beyond the classroom.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and robotics knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience with LEGO Education programs or similar educational robotics platforms.
  • Familiarity with Java programming language is preferable.
  • Experience participating in or coaching teams for robotics competitions (e.g., FIRST) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, engage, and motivate children in a learning environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in robotics education and technology.
